Republican Party of Florida Names Finance Co-Chairman for Florida Victory 2006
- Jim Blosser and Jim MacDougald to lead statewide fundraising effort -
TALLAHASSEE - Republican Party of Florida Chairman Carole Jean Jordan today named Jim Blosser and Jim MacDougald as the Finance Co-Chairmen for Florida Victory 2006. In this role, Blosser and MacDougald will lead the Party's fundraising effort to support the general election campaigns of its State and Federal Party nominees.
"Our Party is extremely fortunate to have Jim Blosser and Jim MacDougald lead our Victory 2006 fundraising efforts," said Florida Governor Jeb Bush. "I am grateful to them for their leadership of this important effort, and I look forward to working with them to raise the financial resources necessary to ensure continued Republican leadership of Florida."
Chairman Jordan also announced that South Florida attorney Justin Sayfie will assist them with the Florida Victory 2006 fundraising effort, and will focus on identification and recruitment of contributors and fundraisers age 40 and under.
"We've put together a top-notch fundraising team, and I'm confident that we will once again achieve our ambitious financial goals," said Chairman Jordan.
Tampa developer, Al Austin retains the title of Republican Party of Florida Finance Chairman, a title he has held for the past six and a half years.
Jim Blosser is a founding shareholder of the law firm of Blosser & Sayfie. He is a former Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Huizenga Holdings, Inc., a sports and investment holding company in Fort Lauderdale. Both in 2000 and 2004, Jim was a Pioneer in the presidential campaigns of President George W. Bush. In 1998 and 2002, Jim served as the Broward Finance Chairman for the Jeb Bush for Governor campaigns. In 1988, Jim served as the Chairman of the Broward Bush-Quayle campaign.
Jim MacDougald is President of MacDougald Management, Inc., St.
Petersburg, Florida. He is a Republican Regent and was a Super Ranger for the Republican National Committee in 2004. Jim and his wife, Suzanne, founded ABR Information Service, Inc. in 1982. The company moved from New Jersey to Florida in 1987. ABR went public (NASDAQ:ABRX) in 1994, and was named one of the "Best 200 Small Companies in America"
in 1995, 1996, and 1997 by Forbes magazine, and one of "The 100 Fastest Growing Public Companies in America" by Fortune magazine in 1998. The company moved its 1,000 Florida-based employees from Palm Harbor to St.
Petersburg in 1998, and was acquired by Ceridian Corporation (NYSE:CEN) in 1999. Jim retired from Ceridian as President of Ceridian Benefits Services and Senior Vice President of Ceridian Corporation in 2000.
Justin Sayfie is a founding shareholder of Blosser & Sayfie. Prior to co-founding Blosser & Sayfie in August 2001, Justin worked as a senior policy advisor, spokesman and chief speechwriter for Governor Jeb Bush.
Justin was a Bush-Cheney '04 Ranger, and was Co-Chair of the 2004 Bush-Cheney grassroots campaign in Broward County. He also publishes the Sayfie Review, a daily online summary of Florida's political news.
